At our most recent Boundless Networking Night, Aaron gave local students from Babson, Northeastern, and more the three most important tips on how to make it big in startups.
1. Positioning: Set yourself apart from everyone else.
To cut through the noise from other job applicants or eager beavers, you need to have a specific goal in mind and a unique angle to get you noticed. Tell the startup why you’re the best fit for them. Make your cover letter the absolute best it can be to match your end goal.
2. Presence: If we can’t find you online, you don’t exist.
What shows up when you Google your name (or in some cases, you name plus your city)? If nothing about you is on the first page of results consider it’s time to beef up your online presence. Keep your social profiles like LinkedIn, GitHub, Dribbble, and Twitter up-to-date. Continue reading
